The sound of silence

I love this image in the New York Times today, which illustrates an online technology story about finding silence in the noisy city (noise-cancelling headphones and that sort of thing, if you don't have them, get them!) I always feel a bit guilty when I plug in my iPod while in the Metro or walking down the street, or even when the kids downstairs are too loud or someone is doing construction in our building (a chronic situation in dense, busy Paris), but in terms of reducing stress it is a lifesaver.
